Virtual File System Considerations

SOAPam Server stores its runtime data in the SOAPam Virtual File System (VFS). The VFS is a hierachical file system that allows SOAPam Server to overcome the limitations of Enscribe's $vol.subvol.file naming restrictions. The VFS is implemented as a collection of Enscribe key-sequenced files and resides in a disk subvol on your NonStop Server system.

The SOAPam Server process accesses a single VFS while it is running. However, many SOAPam Server process instances may access the same VFS, if desired. In this case all process instances will share the same configuration and service definitions. When multiple processes share the same VFS all processes must be executing the same version of the SOAPam Server program file.
