The Password Policy feature enables LightWave Server customers to enforce rigorous password quality standards.
How it Works
LightWave Server's Password Policy utilizes a background refresh mechanism to detect policy revisions automatically, maintaining system uptime by avoiding manual service restarts.
-
Where appropriate, the UI or the console checks against the policy to ensure password quality.
-
Some examples of password changes:
-
Adding a user to LightWave Server
-
Changing the administrator password.
-
-
-
The Password Policy is enforced for all new users or when setting a new password for an existing user.
-
The Password Policy defined by the customer is also enforced for non-console user IDs; i.e., those used for basic or digest request authentication.
-
The Password Policy configuration is set by a startup option.
